Why are fiberglass geogrids needed for asphalt pavements?

Roads, sidewalks and traffic areas

In GEOLEED’s road engineering product line, fiberglass geogrid is a “crack-prevention wonder” specifically designed for **asphalt pavements (black pavements)**.

Simply put, its function is to add a “reinforcing layer” to the asphalt, preventing the pavement from cracking.

Asphalt pavements are most vulnerable to two problems:

Reflective cracking: When reconstructing old cement pavements, cracks at the bottom will “reflect” upwards, causing the newly laid asphalt surface layer to crack as well.

Rutting: In the high temperatures of summer, asphalt softens, and heavy vehicle traffic easily creates deep grooves (ruts).
